Impact and its significance raise essential questions about the existence of academic purpose. Deeper involvement with the public and society reveals the importance of greater scholarly engagement in the search for integration and co-creation of solutions, uniting scientific rigor with and relevance to the practical issues faced by society. As well as the purpose of this editorial is to discuss the contribution of learning environments organized as management labs for expanding the impact of business schools on society in general.
